Lauren Zimmermann is the Sustainable Building and Deconstruction Specialist for the City of Portland in the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability. She will give an overview of City of Portland programs that target reductions in embodied carbon and identify easy and inexpensive opportunities to build with more sustainable materials. John Mead, CEO of Solid Carbon, brings sustainable methods to the concrete industry. He will give an overview of his development and application of biomass products like biochar, driving down the carbon impact of concrete production.
