Designing and installing HVAC systems to match the characteristics of a home is a much-neglected requirement of building codes and above-code programs. Ideally the heating and cooling load calculation is complete before construction begins. System selection should consider both first-cost concerns and long-term operational costs. Once the design is complete and the system selected, it takes clear communication to achieve a quality installation. Attend this session to hear different examples of how home builders and their trade partners can work together to design right-sized systems, address installation challenges and deliver comfort, indoor air quality and efficiency to customers.
