Tim Ahaus has been involved with sustainable building practices for over 20 years. In 2001, he was hired to do marketing and promotions for PGE’s Earth Advantage program, the first regional green building program on the west coast. In 2005, when Earth Advantage became a standalone non-profit, he later transitioned into their marketing director and finally business development director. In 2012, he became a residential business channel manager for PECI and after PECI merged with Clearesult, he became a regional field manager working with Avista Utilities, Pacific Power/Rocky Mountain Power, and Energy Trust of Oregon in their new construction and existing homes market respectively. In 2015, Tim started working for Lexar Homes based out of Olympia, WA, and in 2017 opened their own office based in Oregon City. Tim and his business partner build semi-custom homes from Vancouver to Corvallis and from The Dalles to Manzanita. All of their homes are built as net zero-ready. Tim has been involved with the local HBA since 2001 and helped initiate the Home Performance Council and the original BuildRight Conference. In Tim’s spare time, he enjoys traveling, dining out, and imbibing in deliciously fermented or distilled post-prohibition liquid intoxicants.
